Using the DeSite SLG 78VFG to screen and recycle material that was stripped off the top. It high in clay content but grows good grass so I recycled it. Here is the SLG 78VFG in Ohio recycling waste soil that was hauled back to the yard from worksites. The “Dump and Go” feeder system keeping this skidsteer busy keeping it fed. The SLG 78VFG-RB on the Riser Box increases the feed height and doubles the storage capacity. The Riser Box also allows for buckets up to 82 inches to feed the screener like large screener and compact loaders. The riser box will also increase production by up to 20%.

This video explains in detail how the screen deck casted support arms bear the vertical load not only the screen deck but also 100% of the material dump into the hopper.
The video goes into detail showing the transition of elliptical motion at the top of the deck transferring to an aggressive vertical motion at the bottom of the deck being driven up and down by the Honda engine and eccentric drive system. It is important to also not the DeSite difference in DeSite driven deck action over a conventional suspended deck that suffers from decrease movement when fully loaded. The DeSite SLG 78VFG has the same aggressive action with 250 lbs or 2500 lbs.

The above video explains in detail the metering wing design DeSite has designed into the SLG 78VFG Tilt Open Feed Deflector System. The video also discusses how it all works together to meter the flow of material being screened.
The five metering wings are each formed to a 45 degree angle and have the ability to not only travel up and down but also rotate to allow material to pass from the feed hopper and across the screen deck. Each metering wing has a set collar that can be adjusted up or down to increase or decrease flow.
The Tilt Open Feed Deflector on the VFG can be opened by the machines bucket by pushing upon the 3/4 x 3 spring steel arm or can be opened manually by inserting a bar into the provides holders on the backside of the feeder. Opening the feed deflector allows large debris to freely pass through the screener and off the screen deck.
When wanting to do a mesh size change out, the ability to open up the feed deflector will expose all of the mesh clamp bolts. This makes for a quick and easy 15 minute mesh change out.
This video explains in detail the ease of adjustment to setting the correct height of metering wings. It also talks about the height settings for different types of material being screened and how the wings work to control flow.
Each metering wing is set up with a locking collar on the vertical shaft that holds the wing at a determined height from the screen deck.
The wings have the ability to rotate, allowing material from up to 8 or 10 inches to pass. Material larger than 10 inches can pass by when the operator feeding the screener opens the feed deflector. Opening of the feeder is easily done by the operator using the machines bucket to push on the feeder arm mounted to the feed deflector.
The metering wings on the SLG 78VFG is another example of how DeSite SLG screeners versatility for efficient screening for varying products in vary conditions.
As you watch the video above you will see the effects of the 3600 rpm dual eccentric vibratory pack. You can see how it makes the 2 inch by 3 inch piece of wood dance on the screen deck. When the vibratory pack is turning at full rpm, it sets up a high frequency vibration that makes the woven mesh dance. The high frequency vibration works to move material across the screen deck, but also equally important is that the vibration making the mesh dance also works to resist material from adhering itself to the mesh wire. This is very important when screening materials with high moisture levels. Conventional screeners with only an eccentric action tend to plug up and blind over when screening wet material.

For good reasons we have eliminated wheels, hitches from our designs as they actually work against the portability of a screener.
